HIV Activism Calendar Design
University Brief
2024A reimagined calendar in the unconvential form of an HIV testing kit. Aiming to adress the ongoing stigma around HIV while celebrating LGBTQ+ creativity and art.
Each month fuctions as a distinct part of the kit; from the blood sample to the packaging. Transforming what it means to turn a page. Each month becoming a reflection on strugle, resilience and visibility. Directly drawing from the aesthetics of medical documents, the design adopts an intentially overwhelming and intimidating visual style, printed onto thin, prescription style paper.
The calendar aims to educate and commemorate by featuring LGBTQ+ artists who’s work connects to the history of the AIDS crisis. Presented alongside a sticker set that encourages viewers to share and spread the project beyond the pages.
By hijacking this medical format, the calendar hopes to confront the anxiety and stigma around HIV while offering an acessable tool for education and destigmatisation
